Rising star Rebekah Griffith shines

Oldham junior Rebekah Griffith celebrated a fine season which culminated in her first appearance in the National Finals held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.

At the Stiga Blackpool 4 Star Junior Championships held on 1st October Rebekah won the Junior Open event, this whilst she was still a cadet.

At the Nationals held over the weekend of 3/4th March Rebekah, ranked 125, beat England ranked number 8, Joanna Roberts, in the senior closed tournament. This meant a quarter final match against, Helen Lower, the eventual winner. She received "The Most Improved Junior" award in England.

This season Oldham Table Tennis club won the junior girls British League Division three,
the team being Rebekah Griffith, Ann Godwin, Natalie Dodd, and Sarah Weatherby.
Rebekah finishing with a 100% average, winning all her twenty games.

On April 21st Rebekah finished 3rd in the National schools competition and she will also be competing in the Junior Masters on 12/13th May. All in all a very successful season for one of Lancashire's rising Junior players.
